HAZEL SIMMONS - PERFORMERHazel (she/her) trained at the Guildford School of Acting. Theatre credits include Into the Night (Original Theatre Company), Fisherman’s Friends: The Musical (UK Tour), Romeo and Juliet (Action to the Word), The Ancient Oak of Baldor and Fire Songs (Frozen Light Theatre Company). Originally from Cornwall, Hazel is passionate about storytelling that connects communities and is thrilled to be working with Half a String this winter.

DORTHEA DARBY - PERFORMERDorthea (she/her) is a Jamaican-born British actor who trained in Long Beach, California, and began her professional journey after graduating from the University of Kent. She has since built a dynamic career across theatre and screen, recently returning from a national tour of a family show in Sheffield and reprising her role for seasons 4-6 of the corporate series The Inside Man. Beyond acting, Dorthea is passionate about fitness, music, and spoken word poetry, having recently featured as a performing artist at the renowned Write2Speak poetry night. Dedicated to expanding her physical performance language, she trains in tumbling and stunt work with the goal of becoming the next on-screen superhero. Most recently, Dorthea founded her own production company, Lady Loud Productions, which champions female voices, stories, and artistry in the industry. The company’s debut project, Date Me Not—written by Dorthea herself—is now streaming on YouTube!

ELLIOT LIBURD - PERFORMERElliot (he/him) graduated from Kent University and trained with The Fourth Monkey. Recent theatre includes: Alice in Wonderland at the Marylebone Theatre (2025); Punchdrunk’s The Lost Lending Library (2025); The Commotion Time at Exeter Northcott Theatre, playing John Grenville (2024); The Instrumentalists at the Southbank Centre (2024); and The Immersive Great Gatsby in London’s West End, as Jay Gatsby (2023).
